Luxury destination wedding in Sorrento
Lorna and Neil are a young couple who lives in Bermuda.
After visiting the Amalfi coast on holiday, they fallen madly in love with the lush vegetation of the place. They know a total blue world and so the guys decided that the setting for their wedding would be the “green” Sorrento.
I’ve never seen so much green in my life – Lorna told me – and I fell in love with it.
The luxury hotel Excelsior Vittoria in Sorrento is a triumph of plants and flowers and has been chosen by the couple as a venue for their wedding.
Organizing a luxury destination wedding in Sorrento from abroad is not an easy task and so the guys have relied on the experience of Claire, owner of the Wedding planning agency “Love in the lemon groove“.
Claire is a very experienced wedding planner and has organized a fairytale wedding for Lorna and Neil!
Lorna got ready in one of the Excelsior Vittoria hotel suites while Neil was in a hotel adjacent to the cloister where they would get married in a few hours.
In this wedding photo shoot on the Amalfi Coast Alessio was there to help me as Second shooter.
Once ready, Lorna left the suite to reach the cloister and walked the superb staircase of the hotel.
It was on this occasion that I made infrared photography awarded in the 2018 contest of the “Master of Italian Wedding Photography“.
The cloister of St. Francis in the historical center of Sorrento hosted the intimate ceremony. The venue is simply wonderful, even at photographic level and has allowed us to make unique photographs, even in infrared.
The emotion of the guys was palpable and the photographs taken by Alessio of Neil awaiting the arrival of the bride are a faithful testimony.
After the civil ceremony, accompanied by the exceptional videographer and friend Luigi de Gregorio, we walked for a few minutes along the narrow streets of the historical center of Sorrento.
I particularly love these situations because I can shoot spontaneous photos showing the slow movement of the city around the newlyweds.
Working from distance with a telephoto, I could hide in the crowd and capture some intimate moments.
The return to the hotel was an opportunity to create some of Lorna’s favorite photographs, those immersed in the green gardens of the Excelsior Vittoria.
A few minutes for these staged photos and then we gathered with all the friends who were waiting for our arrival, sipping some excellent prosecco.
From then on, Lorna and Neil dedicated themselves to the festivities, interrupted only by some photographs at sunset and by the traditional speeches.
After dinner, the traditional cutting of the cake by the pool and the first dance ended an extraordinary day in Sorrento.
