A wedding at the Villa Antica Posta in Umbria: the last commitment of 2018 could not be more beautiful. Kelsey and Chris have promised themselves eternal love in a rare beauty pearl located in the green heart of Italy. An intimate and relaxed day, like all weddings in Umbria after all, in the name of friendship, smiles and warm autumn colors.
They met in a bowling alley March of 2010 in Utah. She was working there and he came every week with a group of friends. Chris was initially very shy and reserved. However, once we started chatting, he opened up and was so charismatic and hilarious. Weclicked instantly and although I was leaving for a study abroad in London in a month’s time, we spent every day together before I left. While in London, we wrote emails to each other every day until I got back and were inseparable from that day since!
Chris proposed seven years later after the second time Kelsey had to move to London for a short period of time. She was in London for 6 months for work to build out a new office and on one of his visits, they took the train to Paris for the weekend. It was May 25th, 2017 and they spent the day exploring the city and had dinner at a magical restaurant where he sweated through the entire proposal, shaking nervously. Kelsey said yes and they were able to enjoy an amazing dinner, ending the night under the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower.
Planning the wedding day
Kelsey has always dreamt of a small romantic wedding, surrounded by a lush green setting. Italy seemed the perfect place to gather their families and spend a few days in the countryside together for this special occasion. Kelsey and Chris planned a cooking class, a vineyard tour, a pizza making evening, the week was full events to spend time together. They had 22 adults and 8 kids fly out to Italy for the wedding, mostly our direct family members and a few of our closest friends. Working with Belinda in the Villa was absolutely fantastic. She helped them plan every detail perfectly, the flowers, dinner setting, three course dinner menu, ceremony seating, and even the amazing photographer! Everything was better than Kelsey could have even imagined and their guests said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they have ever been to.
The Wedding day through the eyes of the spouses
“Chris and I woke up at 5am on the day of the wedding to watch the sunrise together as we ran with a small group of friends to Lago Trasimeno. It was such a peaceful way to start the biggest day of our lives. This event had been years in the making and it was so special to have our closest family and friends there to celebrate with us. All the sisters helped me get ready in the early afternoon, drinking Prosecco and dancing as we got in our dresses and makeup.”
“Having my mom help with the finishing touches of my dress, allowed us a quiet moment to each other and time for me to thank her for all the love she’d provided me through the years. My father and I have always been close and to walk down the aisle together, following all the darling page boys and flower girls to the man of my dreams was incredibly memorable.
Looking into Chris’ eyes as we made our vows to love each other forever and unconditionally is a moment I will never forget. Sealed with a kiss, we ran off for a secret moment together to hold one another; it was the happiest we’ve ever been.
“Followed by a divine three course meal, drinks, and dancing under a twilight Tuscan sky was every thing I ever dreamed of.”
