What a nice surprise! ? I have been out from the international wedding contests scene for two years. I made this choice after I realized the abrupt turn that the international judges decided to give to the wedding photography. I was not entirely prepared at this rapid change. I started again to study a way to reconcile my inexhaustible desire to tell emotions with the cold logic of “WOW photography” that for these last years has been the most important aspect in international contests.
Mine absolutely does not want to be a criticism of the work of the judges (who for their part carry out an absolutely arduous task) but an analysis of the world of the wedding photography market.
I worked hard and I think I found a good balance between emotions and “visual impact”.
THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEST OF THE MASTERS OF ITALIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
So I decided to participate again with 10 photographs taken from the last year of activity. Photographs that well express the balance I seek. Emotions are ALWAYS in the foreground but with an eye squeezed to the general visual impact. A very incisive black and white, strong contrasts and bright colors. Always in counter light as my usual and a great desire to get back into the game. Also a controlled blurred shot made with infrared at the exit of the bride from the hotel that hosted her in Sorrento.
5 photographs awarded on a very narrow selection of only 40 shots. An eighth of the awards are my photographs. A great start!
A heartfelt thanks to all the judges who have invested so much time.
